just take the C.P.A. (Camino Pan Americana) East from David City about 40 kms to the exit
"Horconcito". Pass through the village (about 18 kms down the road). In the village, local

comfortable taxi-boat (free snacks, wine, beer or sodas) brings you in an unforgettable 50
minutes-ride to our hotel. The trip passes through lagoons, mangroves, tidal-wetlands, estuaries,
and on the banks of the river you will be able to see indigenous villages and their inhabitants
tending their crops or fishing. (This transport is for hotel-guests at cost: $180 USD, one way
for up to 4 persons, each extra person $10 USD.)
TheResort is located on the tip of a pristine island that runs into the Pacific Ocean, bordered by
beautiful palm lined beaches, and consists of 11 beautiful Bungalows/suites, each with its own
thatched roof rancho and all within 10 meters from the Pacific Ocean or the beach/bay-side.
Furniture, materials and woodwork are home designed and handcrafted by local artisans blending
estetics, art, quality and functionality into a new standard!. The bar-restaurant is built on the
highest point of a small peninsula for breathtaking views of surrounding islands and bays and
views of the resort’s private beach and the 180 degrees infinitive edge freshwater pool. A small
island, accessible by hanging-bridge, houses a spa, and yoga exercise area. Cala Mia as a true
Eco-Resort is also an “Escape” into nature where you will find and experience birds, monkeys,
dolphins, turtles and much more.
An entirely solar powered resort, Cala Mia offers a truly "Green" and enviromentally friendly
atmosphere. Catering to an ecologically and socially aware clientele, we here in Cala Mia realize
there are certain responsibilities towards the earth and its people. (we organize some programs to
support indigenous people: 5% off your roomrate is dedicated to this!)
